About Us
Garden City Ophthalmology has been providing the highest quality eye care since our inception 37 years ago under the supervision of Dr. Buckley, our founder. This long standing tradition of excellence in service has been extended to our patients in the Garden City community and beyond for many years.
Today. Garden City Ophthalmology has been administered by Dr. Kathleen R. Van Valkenburg since 1992. Dr. Van Valkenburg’s undergraduate degree is from the University of Minnesota, and she holds her Master’s degree from NYU. A graduate of the Pre-Med Program of Columbia University. Dr. Van Valkenberg completed her residency at the North Shore/Cornell University Medical Center. She is affiliated with the TLC Laser Eye Center, North Shore University Hospitals (Manhasset and Syosset), Winthrop University Hospital and St. Francis Hospital.
Dr. Van Valkenburg is an affiliate with Surgical Eye Expeditions( SEE) and has volunteered in numerous cataract surgery missions. Most recently, Dr Van volunteered in Peru, Honduras, and Belize. |
